Series Rules & Information

Everything you need to know about the series is here.

SERIES QUALIFICATION

  • There is no minimum number of races to qualify for the series overall. Series overall is calculated using the accumulative points of your best THREE out of four events.

  • You need NOT be present at the final race to qualify for the series overall. However, you must be present to pick up your prize.

  • Series tie-breakers will be decided by the number of 1st place finishes. If still tied, the series overall winner will be determined by the rider that places the highest at the last race.

  • POINTS

  • Points Chart is here.

  • If a racer DNFís (started the race but did not finish), then one (1) point will be awarded. No points will be awarded for DNSís (racers that did not start the race).

  • Points are transferable from lower categories to upper categories (i.e. from beginner to sport). If you want to transfer your points, you must request so in writing. All upgrade request must be received no later than Friday - July 1, 2010 at 12:00pm. Once your points are transferred to an upper category, they will remain in that category, no exceptions.

  • Points earned in upper categories are NOT transferable to lower categories, nor are points transferable in/out of the Single Speed and Clydesdale categories.

  • DEFINITIONS

  • Racing age is the rider's age as of December 31 of the current year.

  • Clydesdale is a rider that is 200 or more pounds

  • THE FINE PRINT

  • The racing schedule/start times is subject to change at promoter's discretion. Information on this website is the most up to date and accurate. Continue to check this website periodically for any changes, or if you would like to be notified via email of any important changes (i.e. dates), please join the "Biker Chat" forum by clicking here.

  • Individual race promoters reserve the right to modify and/or consolidate classes and categories as needed. Also, some races may include categories which are not part of the Indie Series.

  • OTHER IMPORTANT STUFF AND SOME NOT SO IMPORTANT STUFF

  • This is a NOT a Norba sanctioned race series and no racing license is required. For you, this means you pay less $$$ to race. However, you MUST complete and sign a rider waiver before racing.

  • All participants are required to wear helmets when on a bike at our races.

  • Please race in the appropriate class for your fitness level and ability. Nobody likes sandbaggers.

  • If you miss your start, you miss your start - sorry, no time adjustments.

  • The Indie Series is a cross-country series, although some events may include downhill, freeride, or other categories that are not part of the series. Check out the Roslyn race!

  • Remember, it's all about fun.

  • Ride on, The Folks at the Indie Series
